Looking for a high impact (0.74 effect size) teaching strategy to use in your reading classroom?

Why Reciprocal Teaching?

Reciprocal Teaching is a research-based comprehension technique that has demonstrated over 30 years of success in dramatically improving reading comprehension (Ozcus, 2018).

John Hattie's (2018) Visible Learning Research found it to have an effect size of 0.74 on student learning- that's almost 2 year's worth of growth in just 1 year.

This course aims to build your knowledge on what full-strength implementation of this practice looks like (i.e the type of practice that leads to the large effect sizes from Hattie's research.) It unpacks the what, why and how of effective implementation and clears up some common misconceptions along the way.

Course feedback

Beth

“I really loved the references to the evidence based best practices, sharing the history of the practices and then the really practical way how we can take the information straight back into our classrooms. It was so relevant to what I am wanting to implement and improve on with my own teaching.”

Kayla

"Your delivery of information was great! I was constantly thinking about my own practices and how I could take these ideas back into our school while you were talking."
